Dematic has wrapped up three days of innovation, industry engagement and education at CeMAT Australia 2026, showcasing the technologies, software and expertise shaping the future of supply chain operations.
As a major sponsor of CeMAT Australia 2026, Dematic welcomed visitors from across retail, grocery, manufacturing, third-party logistics and distribution to explore how intelligent automation can help organisations maximise capacity, improve productivity and build more resilient operations.
A standout attraction was the Australian debut of the Dematic Multishuttle FD Shuttle System, with attendees able to experience the technology in action for the first time locally. The live demonstration generated strong interest from businesses of all sizes seeking scalable, high-density storage solutions that can grow alongside operational requirements.
Alongside the FD Shuttle, visitors experienced a range of technologies designed to connect people, processes and automation, including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), AutoStore™, 4-Way Pallet Shuttle solutions, Connected Workforce technologies featuring Voice and Vision picking demonstrations, Lifecycle Services capabilities, and Australian-made Colby Storage Solutions.
The exhibition provided an opportunity for attendees to see how these technologies work together to create smarter, more connected warehouse operations, while engaging directly with Dematic’s local automation specialists.
David Rubie, ANZ Sales Director, Integrated Systems and Mobile Automation at Dematic, said the event highlighted the growing appetite for practical automation solutions that deliver measurable operational benefits.
“CeMAT provides a valuable opportunity to speak directly with businesses about the challenges they’re facing in their operations,” said Rubie. “This year there was strong interest in solutions that can help organisations improve productivity, increase storage density and make better use of existing facilities.”
During his presentation at the CeMAT Knowledge Theatre, Optimising Manual Warehouses with Automation, Rubie explored how technologies such as pallet shuttles, AGVs and Dematic’s FD Shuttle solution are helping organisations maximise capacity, improve operational performance and build greater resilience within existing facilities.
“For many organisations, the focus is on finding practical ways to get more out of their existing operations,” added Rubie. “The technologies available today provide greater flexibility than ever before, allowing businesses to automate at a pace that aligns with their needs and growth plans.”
Beyond warehouse automation, Dematic also shared insights into the evolving role of AI and connected workforce technologies. In the presentation AI is Here: Optimising Frontline Workers, Dematic’s ANZ Director of Connected Workforce Solutions and Storage Equipment, Lee Koutsos, and Zebra Technologies Sales Engineering Manager ANZ, Daniel Park, explored how AI-powered solutions are enabling practical applications that place enhanced intelligence directly into the hands of frontline workers, driving improvements in productivity, operational efficiency and warehouse control.
Philip Makowski, Marketing Director APAC at Dematic, said the combination of live technology demonstrations, customer engagement and industry knowledge sharing highlighted the value of events such as CeMAT.
“The conversations throughout the event reflected a strong focus on improving productivity, making better use of existing facilities and building more resilient operations. It’s clear that organisations are looking for solutions that can deliver value today while providing flexibility for the future,” Makowski said.
“Dematic has supported CeMAT since its inaugural year, so it was particularly meaningful to return as the major sponsor in 2026 as we celebrate 60 years of supporting customers across Australia and New Zealand,” he concluded.
